KEEP KINLOCHBERVIE SPECIAL
PROTECTING OUR HERITAGE, LANDSCAPE
& WILDLIFE FOR THE FUTURE
Keep Kinlochbervie Special is a community-led campaign established to protect the extraordinary history, heritage, wildlife and landscape of Kinlochbervie.
Kinlochbervie and its surrounding landscape is treasured by residents and visitors alike for its wild and dramatic views, dark skies, stunning coastline and sea, croft land, lochs, moors and mountains. As the most northerly port on the west coast of Scotland, Kinlochbervie is also home to a thriving fishing industry that has sustained the community for generations.
The locality is a haven for some of Scotland’s rarest species - greenshank, black throated diver, ptarmigan, osprey, golden eagle and puffin have all found space to survive and thrive here.
We love this place.
Faced with a damaging industrial-scale onshore wind development proposal which would destroy the character of this wild and beautiful place forever, we are fighting for our future — not only to preserve and protect the landscape and character of Kinlochbervie, but to safeguard opportunities, livelihoods and a thriving community for the younger generation who deserve to live and prosper here. The proposed windfarm offers no guarantee of more than a handful of long-term jobs, probably none of them being local jobs, while risking lasting damage to the very environment, industries and way of life that already sustain this community.
